Motivational speaker Jim Rohn hit the nail on the head when he said, "Learn how to be happy with what you have while you pursue all that you want." It is of utmost importance for organizations to inculcate and maintain a positive attitude in the workplace.
Optimism is the one quality more associated with success and happiness than any other.
Brian Tracy
Maintaining a positive attitude at work is very important. Whether you are an employee or a manager who has a team of subordinates working under you, having an optimistic attitude will do wonders for your professional as well as personal growth.
Research shows that positive thinking reduces stress, improves employee and customer relationships, inspires team spirit, motivates staff, thereby increasing the sales and profits of a business. As a positive atmosphere is a win-win situation for everyone, individuals and organizations should make efforts and engage in activities to inculcate it.

Plan Appreciation Weeks

Appreciating your coworkers if they have done some good work and saying thanks if someone has helped you, go a long way in spreading positivity.
To make this professional, organizations today celebrate appreciation weeks or days, in which employees are recognized for their achievements by their fellow employees as well as the management.
When the work is appreciated, employee motivation increases, and thus, the employees perform their work to the best of their ability. If you want to plan this activity in your organization, this and similar ideas will certainly help you in a big way.

Have 'Fun' Days

Plan out some fun days in the office, wherein, the employees get a chance to interact with each other on a personal basis. You can have special days like a particular color dress code or a company sponsored lunch, once in a while.
Taking the employees as well as their families on picnics, having an employee sports day, and celebrating employees' birthdays, enhance the bond between the employees and the organization. These activities go a long way to foster team spirit and improve productivity.

Become a Role Model

It's said that positive energy rubs on to other people. So, if you want all kinds of negativity to dispel from around you, start thinking, feeling, and acting positive yourself.
Smile when you talk to your fellow employees. Avoid any kind of sarcasm or 'putting-down' behavior. Be honest & straightforward in your conversations and dealings with other people. Stop worrying and find solutions to work-related problems with a lot of patience. Most importantly, use your time in office constructively.

Involve Employees in Social Work

Get the employees involved in some community work or a cause. Doing social work will make them feel happy and satisfied, and thus, they will bring the same positivity with them to the workplace.

Positive Work Environment

To create positive energy in the office, have some quotes on positive thinking and attitude pasted on the walls and notice boards. Reading them again and again is bound to inspire many of the employees to be enthusiastic about their work.
Here are some quotes that you can use:

Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any other one thing.
Abraham Lincoln

It is our attitude at the beginning of a difficult task which, more than anything else, will affect its successful outcome.
William James
If you believe you can, you probably can. If you believe you won't, you most assuredly won't. Belief is the ignition switch that gets you off the launching pad.
Denis Waitley
You need to be aware of what others are doing, applaud their efforts, acknowledge their successes, and encourage them in their pursuits. When we all help one another, everybody wins.
 ― Jim Stovall
There are two kinds of people, those who do the work and those who take the credit. Try to be in the first group; there is less competition there.
Indira Gandhi
Our attitudes control our lives. Attitudes are a secret power working twenty-four hours a day, for good or bad. It is of paramount importance that we know how to harness and control this great force.
Tom Blandi
Positive thinking improves employee performance, that is a given. On an individual level too, they will feel very satisfied and happy if the office environment is encouraging.
